Redfin is a website whose mission is to make real estate work in the customer's favor. While Redfin got its start inventing map-based search, today it has redesigned real estate from the ground up using technology that put customers first. They’ve joined forces with agents who want to be customer advocates, not salesmen. When working with home buyers, Redfin gives back part of its commission as a rebate or savings on the commission fee. However, Redfin charges a 1.5% listing fee to home sellers, which remain less than the tradition 3% fee.
The Redfin website home buying and selling services launched in the United States in 2006.
